Who loves crafting? We all do right? Especially us! So much so that we realised we longed to share our ideas with our friends. Our friends told our other friends and before long we were getting requests to share our crafting knowledge with the community locally. We are based in lovely leafy Eltham in the London Borough of Greenwich, where you can jump on the Cutty Sark or go along to Eltham Palace.
As two friends we soon realised we could pool our knowledge and share our skills with others. Sylvia is the crocheter and Viv is the felter. Together we have formed SEYA The South East Yarn Academy (London). Like the name? We are wool lovers although we also work in other forms of textile too.
We see our crafts as art forms and find that creating with textile gives us so much joy which we love to share.
2018 was a crazy year where we participated in the creation of the hugely successful South East London Wool and Textile Festival which is running again in 2019 on 29 and 30 June. We did loads of community crafting events and met hundreds of keen creators.
